“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence…” –Isaiah 62:6.
As of this writing, on January 27th 2022, Russia and America are on the verge of war over Ukraine; Russian troops are currently massed at the border. Tensions between the U.S. and Russia have not been this high for 60 years, during the Cuban Missile Crisis; we should be concerned.
Jesus told us that near the end of the world we would hear of wars, and rumors of wars-we have been warned (Matthew 24:6). Continuing prayer is in order (Colossians 4:2), but I hope that your hearts are still at peace in Christ (John 16:33).
America has been placing its missiles in many Eastern European nations that border Russia over the past few years. Ukraine is an American ally, and we have armed them, as well. In turn, Russia is also deploying its missiles into Cuba (again). All of this is just strategic positioning for World War III; predicted prophetically in Revelation 9:13-19. But is this the time for that war? I don’t think so.
While it is always possible that the timeline could be moved up, World War III is still being planned for late 2024. This tends to agree with scripture. IF the Bible’s events come in order (I think so), we will first go through the trials listed in Revelation 8:7-9:12. My opinion is that if Russia invades Ukraine, the response would mostly be through economic sanctions. Any skirmishes between Russia and the U.S. would be limited, but some could be used as a test of weaponry. The test would show us what weapons their side has, and how effective our weapons are against them. Please watch, and pray!
On the personal side, God has at last granted us entrance into Botswana-the African nation He had led us to at the first, but its borders were closed. We entered the country on December 3rd, 2021, 397 days after we first arrived in Africa (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; November 1st, 2020). We are staying near the Zambia border in the Kazungula area. God is faithful, and we are beginning to see His Spirit move in many ways. Please pray for this continual help in our lives, as we seek to glorify Jesus Christ through this relocation that He directed.
